Union Baptist Church is seeking a Spirit-led, bi-vocational Pastor to lead our congregation in worship, ministry, and community outreach. We are a Southern Baptist congregation looking for a shepherd who balances a passion for the pulpit with a heart for the welfare and oversight of our church family.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria as established by our church by-laws:
- Scriptural Integrity: Must meet the qualifications for leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
- Denominational Standing: Must be an ordained Southern Baptist minister in good standing (or scheduled for ordination).
- Note: Candidates pending ordination may be extended a call contingent upon the approval of the appropriate ordination committee.
Commitment
Ability to balance bi-vocational responsibilities while prioritizing the spiritual health of the church.
Primary Duties
- Pulpit Ministry: Lead and conduct regular and special religious services, providing biblically sound preaching and teaching.
- Pastoral Care: Administer ordinances (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper), minister to the needs of the church and local community and oversee the general welfare of the congregation.
- Leadership & Administration:
- Serve as Moderator at all business meetings and preside over Church Council.
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all church organizations and committees (excluding the Pulpit Committee).
- Consult with Deacons regarding guest speakers, supply preachers, and evangelists for special services.
- Provide quarterly and annual reports for the church body.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an indefinite-term call with a structured benefits package:
- Salary: $20,000.00/yr.
- Vacation: 1 week (Years 1-2); 2 weeks (Years 3-4); 3 weeks (Year 5+). Vacation time cannot be accumulated and carried over from year to year.
- Sick Leave: 1 week (Years 1); 2 weeks (Years 2); 3 weeks (Year 3); 4 weeks (Year 4+). Sick leave cannot be accumulated and carried over from year to year. However, the deacons may appropriate additional sick time if needed, with the approval of the church.

Children's Director

Job Description:
Our church is seeking an ordained Southern Baptist Pastor who is responsible to the church for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, for using his skills in administrative leadership, for engaging in pastoral ministries to meet the needs of church members and in the community and to act as Chief Administrator of the Ministerial and Vocational Staff.
Education and Character Requirements:
The Candidate will hold a Bachelors or is currently working toward a Masters of Divinity from an accredited seminary or Divinity School as well as three to ten years of pastoral experience.
The candidate must be a Godly man of high moral character. He must be spiritually mature and have a good reputation with those inside and outside the church. He must be outgoing and personable. He demonstrates an evangelistic lifestyle with the ability to attract and effectively minister to people of all ages.
Administration Requirements:
- Demonstrate a strong foundation of Biblical knowledge and be committed to cultivating spiritual growth in the congregation, both as a teaching preacher from the pulpit and leading in discipleship (2 Timothy 2:2).
- Lead the Deacons and Family Care Ministry and be responsible to train those individuals.
- Serves as the Chairman of the Church Council in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the total church program (Sunday School, church events, etc.).
- Serve as a leader and lead the membership in soul winning training (outreach, outside the four walls).
- Keep the church informed of developments within the Denomination.
- Offer Office Hours for premarital counseling, individual counseling, visitation, and prayer. Advise other professional help as necessary.
- Officiate weddings, conduct funerals, and baptisms.
